It a new month, the sun is shining and the post Olympics blues is slowly fading. That sound like the right time for a Web Analytics
Wednesday! The original plan was to host Paul Denlinger to speak about his plan to set up the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in China. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Paul cannot come back to Beijing
in time. So here is plan B:
Panel discussion about the “State of the industry”
Moderator: Florian Pihs
Panelists:
Wu Yong – Chinese Web Analytics entrepreneur
Yang Zhou – Google Analytics Account Manager
Song Jie – CEO of Banru a local web analytics vendor
Laker Chan – CEO SinoTech Search
Karen Ho – Digital Planning Director, OMD
Some topics I plan to ask about are:
1) How do we compare the status of the industry in China with other markets?
2) What are the key development in the space in China in the last year?
3) How ready are advertisers, publishers and agencies to adopt a more data driven strategy?
4) Which vendors are present in market offering web analytics solutions?
If you are as curious as me to hear what these experts have to say, please RSVP
- by commenting on this post
- or on the Web Analytics Wednesday Website
The format will be mainly standing room, with a few seats and buffet dinner. Our thanks go out again to Eric Peterson and the folks at Web Analytics Demystified who generously sponsor part of the cost of the event. Be prepared however to spend about RMB 50 for the evening. As usual the knowledge you get in exchange is invaluable

Please publish the result of the discussion, I’m from Hungary (Europe)- so I cannot join it, but it sounds very interesting. Is it possible?
Also interested in the outcome. Thank you in advance.
